The Forbidden Zone (1982) was the first film Danny Elfman, of Tim Burton fame, scored. It is a ridiculous and surreal romp through the sixth dimension. Highly recommended viewing for anyone with a camp sense of humor. I actually will rarely suggest a colorized version over the original black-and-white, but the original film was intended to be in color. The filmmakers lacked the funds to produce color film, so they settled for black and white. I know the colorized version was made with Richard Elfman’s full blessing and I really do suggest that version over the original black and white.
